In 2008, I received a shiny new eBook reader as a present from my Wife. Apart from gaining her major brownie points, it re-ignited my interest in all thing books and eBooks. However, when I tried to source new eBooks for my device, I ran into a brick wall.
Because of where I lived (in sunny Ireland), I couldn’t buy many of the books I wanted (Crazy, right?). What I could buy was expensive, listed on websites that were difficult to navigate and in prices that were in a different currency or strangely misleading, with rebates, discount, clubs and membership fees.
So I began thinking that maybe I could help people like me – and so was born Directebooks.com. This site is still based on the same principles that motivated me in the first place:
